Lea’s mis-construction of Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin featuring dancers Eleanor Perry, Harry Alexander, Joshua Ben-Tovim, Anders Duckworth, Ruben Brown and music by Steve Blake is being filmed 23-26 March 2017 in Aarhus town hall, Denmark. This will form part of visual artist and film director Jasmina Cibic’s work Nada 2.
Lea and Steve Blake enjoyed a week of research at Greenwich Dance Agency with bharatanatyam dancers Mira Gokul and Stella Subbiah from Sankalpam. We plan to develop our findings in the new year.
Lea will be conducting research at The University of Roehampton 24th-25th October 2016 with a group of Investigative Dance Researchers. They will be examining the movement styles of Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson and Janis Joplin. This research will form the basis of new work planned to take place in 2017.
Lea will be resident at Chichester University in November 2016, creating new work for Map Dance which will be performed in 2017 (dates to be announced). New music composed by Steve Blake.
Snapshot, a new work commissioned by Step Up Dance Project will premiere at Dance Limerick on Wednesday 24th August and will tour to NUI Galway on Thursday 25th August, Firkin Crane, Cork on Friday 26th August and Dancehouse, Dublin, on Saturday 27th August 2016.
